AIDE (Artificial Intelligence Damage Estimator) provides car damage estimation instantly on the basis of pictures provided by users, while being able to interact with the user in order to guarantee quality. The product is offered to insurance companies, which will be able to offer this service to their customers. AIDE provides a solution to the current long-lasting claim process, while reducing the cost.
Together with partners Achmea and Cefriel, Pipple is building an application which is able to assess car damage based on visual imagery, as provided by a user who has just been in an accident. Through advanced image recognition technology, damaged car parts can be identified and a severity assessment can be made within a very short time frame. It also optimizes the process flow for the insurance company.”

Implementing AI technologies such as AIDE will reduce the effort from insurance companies and customers, and not only for car insurance. Other possible applications expand to for example the assessment of E-bikes, a vehicle which is more and more involved in serious accidents. First responses from the industry on AIDE are very positive and show the potential for broadening the scope to even more insurance applications. As such, the AIDE application, or as it will be known to the market: Bump-Out!, can take a big step towards complete modernization of the damage claims market.
